Sculpture completed in 2020

During the first half of 2020, I modelled this stoneware bust of Abbé Pierre, whose real name was Henri Grouès.An emblematic figure of solidarity and the fight against poverty, he embodies, in my eyes, active humility, the right word and tireless commitment.I drew inspiration from several photographs found on the Internet, including some on Wikipedia. I chose to depict him wearing his famous beret, his features at ease, his gaze turned towards others. His glasses - also fashioned in sandstone - add a touch of familiarity and gentleness to the expression. This portrait is a tribute. I've tried to portray him sincerely, simply and fraternally, in the image of the man he was.
